TPLink Distribution Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (TP-Link Malaysia) has signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with New Era University College to support enterprise networking skills development for students in Malaysia.
According to the organisations, the partnership is intended to link academic teaching with industry requirements by integrating enterprise networking training, professional certification pathways and industry exposure into the university’s learning environment.
As part of the arrangement, TP-Link Malaysia will deploy its Omada enterprise networking solutions at New Era University College to provide hands-on experience with infrastructure designed to mirror business networks. The collaboration also includes technical workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions, and access to the Omada Certified Network Administrator (OCNA) certification pathway.
Students will also be offered industrial training and internship opportunities with TP-Link Malaysia, the organisations said.
“As organisations continue to accelerate their digital transformation efforts, the demand for professionals with the ability to support and manage modern technology infrastructure continues to grow. Developing this talent requires closer collaboration between industry and academia to ensure students are equipped with knowledge that is aligned with real-world needs. Through our partnership with New Era University College, we aim to contribute our industry expertise and provide students with meaningful exposure to enterprise technologies and practices,” said Cai Zhenbiao (Hugo Cai), regional director of TP-Link Malaysia.

Prof. Dr. Ang Yang Yi, dean of the Faculty of Computing and Innovative Technology at New Era University College.
The parties said they will also explore collaboration in research initiatives, technical knowledge exchange, and engagement between industry professionals and academic experts.
TP-Link Malaysia said the MoU follows earlier collaborations with Universiti Malaya, Universiti Teknologi MARA, and Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, where the OCNA certification pathway has been introduced. The company said approximately 500 students participated in the pathway in 2025.
The announcement comes as Malaysia continues to pursue digital economy goals, with organisations and universities seeking more structured pathways to produce graduates with skills aligned to modern network infrastructure needs.
