ST Engineering today announced that its Commercial Aerospace business has signed a Component Maintenance-By-the-Hour (MBHTM) agreement with Turkish Technic, the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) arm of Turkish Airlines group companies, serving airlines worldwide.

Under the multi-year agreement, ST Engineering will provide component support to Turkish Airlines’ fleet of Boeing 787 starting from August this year. The comprehensive and customised services include component repair management with a dedicated consignment stock in Istanbul. ST Engineering will also make available a regional component pool to support Turkish Airlines. In addition, this new agreement includes reciprocal repair work with Turkish Technic.

Jeffrey Lam, Commercial Aerospace President at ST Engineering, said, “We are delighted to be selected by Turkish Technic after a robust selection process to support Turkish Airlines with our market-leading 787 MBH™ programme. Beyond Boeing 787 component support for Turkish Airlines, we also look forward to widening our scope of cooperation with Turkish Technic by collaborating in other MRO opportunities. This will allow both companies to leverage each other’s strengths when servicing their respective global clientele.”

Mikail Akbulut, Chief Executive Officer of Turkish Technic, said “We are happy with ST Engineering’s ability to customise their MBH™️ programme to suit Turkish Airlines’ dynamic needs, which will help us ensure the Boeing 787 fleet is ready for daily operations. While paving the way for new business opportunities between both parties, this beneficial partnership cements the mutual efforts between the MROs to meet the needs of next-generation aircraft customers worldwide.”
