The Singapore Computer Society (SCS) has invited media to its Tech³ Forum 2026 on 20 August, where it plans to unveil a cross-industry “Skills Pathway for AI” developed with 15 founding employers, alongside new training programmes and an updated AI ethics and governance framework.
The forum, to be held at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, will be opened by guest-of-honour Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister for Digital Development and Information, according to the invitation.
SCS said the Skills Pathway for AI is a cross-industry initiative led with the Singapore Medical Association, Institution of Engineers, Singapore and Singapore Logistics Association. It is supported by the Skills & Workforce Development Agency, Infocomm Media Development Authority and AI Singapore.
Under the pathway, SCS said it will align learning pathways, industry-recognised certifications and workplace experience “to help professionals build relevant AI capabilities” and support responsible AI adoption across professions.
Two additional capability-building programmes are also scheduled to be launched at the forum in partnership with NTUC LearningHub: an AI Verify Workshop focused on assessing traditional and generative AI systems using Singapore’s AI Verify Framework; and an “SCS Accelerator Series: Government Tech Domain” programme that SCS said is aimed at preparing professionals for government digital projects, including training in governance, compliance and security.
SCS also plans to release an updated “AI Ethics & Governance Body of Knowledge” (Version 2.1) focused on agentic AI, which it said will provide guidance on governance, accountability, auditability and human oversight as AI systems increasingly act autonomously.
The forum is being held under the theme “AI: Abundance or Imbalance?” and is positioned by organisers as part of efforts to build an AI-ready workforce and strengthen trusted governance as AI adoption expands across sectors.
Programme highlights listed in the invitation include a keynote by DBS chief executive officer Ms Tan Su Shan on “Building Trusted and Human-Centred AI”, followed by a panel discussion featuring representatives from GovTech, Singtel, FairPrice Group and Accenture Singapore. Afternoon parallel tracks are planned on accounting and finance technology, and legal technology.
