The Singapore Computer Society (SCS) held its 57th Annual General Meeting on 28 March 2024, re-electing Mr Sam Liew for his third term as President.

In 2023, SCS unveiled its refreshed identity and launched many new initiatives, amongst which were:

  1. Launched the STAR@SCS digital credentialling registry, which enhances members’ professional profiles through professional activities and achievements.
  2. Introduced two new tech certifications in collaboration with NUS-ISS – Certification in DevSecOps Engineering & Automation (CDEA) and Certification in Managing Digital Products (CMDP)
  3. Launched the Women in Tech Board Readiness Programme in collaboration with the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID)
  4. Signed MoUs with six Institutes of Higher Learning to offer more than 70 joint micro-certifications for working professionals.
  5. Inaugurated two new Special Interest Groups (SIGs) – Sustainable Tech (ST) and AI Ethics & Governance (AIEG)
  6. Onboarded Kaplan Singapore as the 21st Student Chapter
  7. Kickstarted the monthly SCS Digital Experience @ The Library programmes for the community

“In today’s dynamic tech landscape, adaptation is key for professionals to remain future-proof,” said SCS President, Mr Sam Liew. “Our commitment to professional development and upskilling empowers SCS members to hone a competitive edge in both local and global markets. In addition, SCS champions a collaborative ecosystem to raise public tech literacy by being the bridge connecting tech organisations and experts to the public through community activities,” Sam added.

SCS has more than 56,000 members. Through its 14 Chapters and five Special Interest Groups as well as various certification programmes, SCS offers professional development opportunities to accelerate the skills and careers of tech professionals.
