Plaud has announced the opening of its Asia-Pacific (APAC) headquarters in Singapore and said it will invest at least S$20 million to expand engineering, product development and regional operations.

The company said the commitment doubles an earlier S$10 million investment announced earlier this year, positioning Singapore as its long-term regional hub.

In the announcement, Plaud said its Singapore headcount has grown from 10 to about 100 employees over nine months, reaching what it described as its end-of-2026 hiring milestone three months ahead of schedule.

The Singapore office will serve as Plaud’s base of operations across 12 markets: Australia, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore.

Plaud said the regional headquarters will support continued hiring across engineering, product and business functions. It also said its Singapore team is contributing to multilingual and “code-switching” capabilities intended to be rolled out globally.

The company described Singapore’s mix of languages and accents as a useful environment for developing AI systems designed to interpret conversational context and intent across diverse markets.
