Kong Inc. says it has expanded its Singapore availability for its API and AI connectivity platform Kong Konnect, including launching Dedicated Cloud Gateways in-country and adding regional hosting of the Kong Konnect control plane.
The company said the updates are aimed at organisations that want to connect AI services to data and applications while meeting data residency and compliance expectations, and to reduce latency for teams operating across Asia Pacific. Kong also said it is expanding local go-to-market and site reliability engineering teams and adding senior technical roles based in Singapore.
“Singapore has established itself as one of the most important technology and innovation hubs in Asia Pacific, with both Enterprise and Government sectors leading the adoption of cloud and AI-first platforms,” said David Carless, Vice President, Asia Pacific and Japan, Kong. “We continue to see strong demand in the region for unified platforms like Kong Konnect that can provide secure, high performance connectivity across APIs, AI services, and events while meeting security, regulatory, and data governance requirements.”
Kong said Kong Konnect is used by enterprises in Singapore, including Seaco, which it described as using the platform to unify governance and streamline communications with partners.
Dedicated Cloud Gateway and Konnect in Singapore
Kong said its Dedicated Cloud Gateways are now available in Singapore, allowing organisations to deploy Kong Gateway and Kong AI Gateway on single-tenant infrastructure while Kong manages the control plane, infrastructure lifecycle and ongoing operations. The company said the service is available on Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, and is intended to support in-region data residency by keeping API and AI traffic within Singapore.
The company also said it now supports regional control plane deployment for Kong Konnect in Singapore, enabling organisations to manage configuration, policy and governance for API and AI infrastructure from within the region. Kong said this is designed to support data residency and compliance expectations and reduce operational latency.
Long-standing IMDA-accredited status
Kong said the Singapore availability builds on its local presence, including accreditation by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) of Singapore, which it said can streamline procurement for public sector and regulated organisations.
“Kong’s ongoing investment in local infrastructure and talent is helping organisations build advanced digital and AI-driven services, while simultaneously enabling best-in-class governance and compliance adherence,” said Mr. Edwin Low, Director, Enterprise & Ecosystem Development, IMDA. “Maintaining Singapore’s position as a global digital hub depends on strong collaboration with technology providers that demonstrate robust security, reliability, and compliance standards.”
