Global supply chain company HAVI says it will open a technology hub in Kuala Lumpur in November, making it the company’s first such hub in Asia Pacific and one of four globally.
The company said the Kuala Lumpur TechHUB will focus on developing digital tools for supply chains across the region, including AI-driven forecasting, data analytics, automation and IoT-enabled fleet management.
HAVI said the hub has hired 50 technology professionals since March 2026 and expects to reach 100 employees by the end of the year, with roles spanning demand forecasting, data analytics, product management, software engineering, cybersecurity, cloud operations and change management. The announcement said the Kuala Lumpur operation aims to create 150 high-value jobs by mid-2027.
“Malaysia offers the right combination of technology ambition, multilingual talent and regional connectivity to support the next phase of HAVI’s growth in Asia Pacific,” said Reto Sahli, Chief Digital & Information Officer at HAVI.
HAVI said it will establish a talent development programme in Kuala Lumpur covering technical upskilling in AI, analytics, automation and cloud-based supply chain systems, along with logistics training and leadership development for staff taking on regional and global roles.
Daniela Ribeiro, Director of Technology Transformation at HAVI, said the company’s hub network operates as a connected global team across time zones, describing the model as “Follow the Sun”.
The announcement positioned the investment against broader growth indicators in Malaysia’s logistics and digital economy. It cited projections that Malaysia’s logistics and supply chain market will grow from USD29.70 billion in 2025 to USD31.23 billion in 2026, reaching USD40.11 billion by 2031, and said Malaysia recorded RM87.4 billion in approved digital investments in 2025, expected to create more than 31,000 high-value jobs.
HAVI said its TechHUB network includes hubs in Chicago, Krakow and Lisbon, alongside the planned Kuala Lumpur hub.
