Check Point Software and Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) have signed a partnership to integrate Check Point’s SecureAcademy curriculum into NP’s School of InfoComm Technology, as Singapore faces rising demand for cybersecurity skills.
The collaboration was formalised through a memorandum of understanding. From the April 2026 semester, about 100 students in NP’s Diploma in Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics are set to take an updated Network Security module that includes the Check Point Certified System Administrator (CCSA) curriculum.
The announcement cites a regional talent gap, saying Asia-Pacific faces a shortfall of more than 3.4 million cybersecurity professionals. It also points to Singapore job market data indicating a 57% year-on-year increase in cybersecurity job postings, and that demand for specialised roles such as cybersecurity architects and analysts has risen by more than 250%.
NP said embedding the CCSA certification is intended to supplement theory with practical skills, including firewall technologies, VPNs, malware protection, security monitoring and management, network architecture and design, and encryption.
“Through strategic partnerships with global cybersecurity leaders like Check Point Software Technologies, we deliver an industry-aligned education that gives our students a distinctive edge,” said Dr. Joel Yang, Director of the School of InfoComm Technology, Ngee Ann Polytechnic. “Today’s increasingly complex threat landscape calls for cybersecurity professionals to possess critical decision-making skills. By creating learning environments that reflect how cybersecurity teams operate in practice, our students build both the skills and confidence to effectively safeguard digital and enterprise infrastructure.”
Under the SecureAcademy programme, Check Point said it is providing a grant valued at S$60,000, including courseware, software licences for lab environments, lecturer training led by Check Point experts, and access to virtual events. The package also includes an 85% discount on exam fees, lowering the cost from S$300 to S$45, according to the release.
Eugene Liew, course chair of the Diploma in Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics, said: “Students in the diploma don’t just learn individual tools – they learn how cybersecurity systems work together. This integrated exposure across cloud, network, and endpoint environments helps them to develop practical skills in tackling real-world cybersecurity challenges. Such comprehensive training will stand them in good stead to take on rewarding roles in this high-demand field.”
Check Point’s Singapore country manager, Rebecca Law, framed the partnership as part of efforts to expand the pool of certified cybersecurity professionals in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region.
