ServiceNow research projects manufacturing and healthcare will lead Singapore’s workforce growth through 2031, adding about 16,000 and 12,000 roles respectively, according to its 2026 Workforce Skills Forecast.

The media alert says the forecast also indicates changing skills demand within those sectors, with leadership and project management among the largest projected increases alongside Python and collaboration.

In manufacturing, leadership is projected to record the largest increase in workers using the skill, with additional growth projected in project management, problem solving, collaboration, analytical skills and Python, according to the alert.

In healthcare, project management is projected to record the largest increase, accompanied by leadership, collaboration, Python, stakeholder engagement and communication.

Across Singapore’s workforce, the alert says about 2,000 more workers are projected to use each of project management, leadership, Python and collaboration by 2031, while fewer workers are projected to use general administrative support, data entry and telephone support skills.

The forecast also projects that specialised data and technology capabilities, including extract, transform and load (ETL), data governance and artificial intelligence, will grow fastest by percentage by 2031.

Outside manufacturing and healthcare, the alert projects telecommunications, media and technology will add about 8,000 roles, while retail employment is projected to contract by about 2,000 roles.

The research comes as SkillsFuture expands mid-career support to around 140 more training programmes from 1 December, following an announcement last week, according to the email.

The findings are based on Singapore workforce and skills projections to 2031 using Pearson Labour Market Insights data, as presented in the 2026 ServiceNow Workforce Skills Forecast Singapore country analysis.
