STEE-SUTD Cyber Security Lab Commences First Cyber Security Project DigiSAFE Data Diode Attains NITES Certification
ST Electronics will be showcasing the latest cyber security developments at this year’s GovWare 2016. With the aim to break new grounds in cyber security technologies, ST Electronics – Singapore University of Technology and Design Cyber Security Laboratory has officially embarked on its first cyber security research project since its launch in May this year (2016). The S$45m joint laboratory is supported by the National Research Foundation (NRF) Singapore under its Corporate Laboratory@University Scheme. The project has commenced and is progressing in full gear to develop novel algorithms automatically to detect possible malicious insiders based on users’ behaviours and network information.
ST Electronics’ DigiSAFE Data Diode has also received the local Authority’s recognition through its accreditation under the National IT Evaluation Scheme (NITES). This is a certification scheme regulated by the local Government. The DigiSAFE Data Diode addresses the cyber risk of data loss due to leaks by offering a simplified way of protecting sensitive and critical business information, allowing fast and secure one-way data transfers from external networks to enterprises. This device meets the stringent security standards of governmental agencies and financial institutions.
“ST Electronics’ innovative cyber security capabilities are fast leading the industry to meet the ever evolving challenges in the cyber realm. The addition of our DigiSAFE Data Diode to our range of NITES accredited cyber products signifies an important recognition for us and also an assurance of our broad spectrum of trusted enterprise solutions. Our R&D effort at the STEE-SUTD Cyber Security Laboratory is also well on schedule to advance new technological frontiers in cyber security,” said Mr Lee Fook Sun, Deputy CEO & President, Defence Business of ST Engineering and President of ST Electronics.
ST Electronics will be featuring its suite of innovative smart cyber solutions based on the theme “Securing Our Digital Future” at the GovWare2016, which will be held at Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre from 10 to 12 October 2016.
A key highlight for ST Electronics at the GovWare 2016 is our Advanced Security Operations Centre (Advanced SOC) as the centerpiece that showcases our latest enhanced cyber security solutions and technologies, developed in-house to meet the ever-increasing cyber challenges. Two featured solutions of the Advanced SOC will include the SERIS – Smart Analytics (CyberPrism) and our latest solution, the DigiSAFE Black Computer DN900. The Advanced SOC has been designed to overcome today’s SOC challenges of security
analyst shortfall and the mounting difficulty to investigate huge amount of daily security alerts. It leverages on advances in data science, data analytic, data visualisation, artificial intelligence and expert decision support system to ensure rapid and effective incident response by a lean SOC team.
More detailed information on the above cyber security solutions can be found in the factsheet in Annex A.
