SEMI Southeast Asia has appointed Dato’ Bock KL, Senior Vice President, Backend Operations, Sandisk, as the new Chairman of the SEMI Southeast Asia Regional Advisory Board, succeeding KC Ang, who has served with distinction and will now be conferred the title of Emeritus Advisor, in recognition of his longstanding leadership and service.

The ceremonial announcement took place during the SEMI Southeast Asia Q3 Regional Advisory Board Meeting, where the Board Members gathered to celebrate this pivotal leadership transition.

Under Ang’s stewardship, SEMI Southeast Asia has significantly expanded its strategic influence, strengthened cross-border collaboration, and championed industry growth across the region. His legacy includes a decade of visionary leadership marked by deep engagement with policymakers, strong member advocacy, and transformative initiatives that shaped the region’s semiconductor ecosystem.

“I’m deeply honoured to step into the role of Chairman to build on the remarkable leadership of KC Ang, whose vision and dedication have shaped SEMI SEA into a key force within the regional semiconductor ecosystem,” said Dato’ Bock KL, Chairman, SEMI Southeast Asia Regional Advisory Board. “As we look ahead, I’m energised by the immense potential Southeast Asia holds. My focus will be on igniting cross-border collaboration, cultivating strategic partnerships, and accelerating the development of future-ready talent — all critical pillars for our industry’s continued evolution. Together, we will reimagine SEMI Southeast Asia’s role — not just as a connector, but as a catalyst for bold innovation, resilient ecosystems, and sustainable growth. This is our moment to help shape the future of technology from Southeast Asia to the world.”
