Tencent Cloud has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, better known as Bank BRI, and Hi Cloud Indonesia to digitally transform the bank’s products and services and improve customer service and transaction experiences.
“As part of BRI’s strategic approach, we aim to enhance our retail banking capabilities by exploring a range of technologies,” said Bank BRI’s Kaspar Situmorang. “Through collaborating with various parties, we hope to enrich use cases and gain valuable insights to develop digital capabilities, delivering a cutting-edge and personalized banking experience.”
Bank BRI says the signing of the MOU marks its commitment to remain a leading innovator in the Indonesian banking industry. Incorporating Tencent Cloud’s technological know-how with BRI’s local expertise, the bank says the MOU will drive innovation and the development of banking services.

Tencent Cloud’s electronic Know Your Customer solution allows financial institutions to remotely verify user identities and reduce risks posed by identity fraud. Hi Cloud Indonesia, a Tencent Cloud partner, played a key role in expediting the adoption of innovative technologies and facilitating the MOU between Tencent Cloud and Bank BRI.
