Gprnt has announced a partnership with SGX Group to expand the capabilities of ESGenome, the Singapore Exchange’s digital disclosure portal for environmental, social and governance reporting, with a focus on climate-related disclosures and transition planning.
The partnership, announced at the inaugural SGX Group-Gprnt Climate Action Forum officiated by Singapore’s Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, Grace Fu, is positioned as part of preparations for mandatory climate reporting based on standards issued by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).
According to the companies, the enhanced portal is intended to help SGX-listed organisations address ISSB-based climate-related disclosures, Scope 3 emissions reporting and transition planning. The release also frames the work as a step toward greater interoperability across Singapore’s sustainability reporting ecosystem, including use of sustainability data for supplier engagement, sustainable procurement and green financing.
The organisations said ESGenome will be migrated onto the Gprnt platform and will include climate-related disclosure modules developed in consultation with relevant government agencies. The release said the modules will use guided workflows and “plain-language prompts” to support organisations new to climate reporting.
The partnership also includes automation of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions calculations using government data, and a “phased” roadmap for artificial intelligence-enabled functions to support disclosure preparation, climate risk and opportunity assessments, and the development of climate targets and transition plans.
In parallel, the companies said the work would align with broader efforts by the Council for a Competitive Climate Transition (C3T), which is focused on transition planning and supply-chain engagement. Under the arrangement described in the release, C3T will work with Gprnt and SGX Group to provide SGX-listed companies with information on climate risks, transition pathways and sector benchmarks, and to identify information gaps and additional resources needed for transition planning.
The release also encouraged SGX-listed companies to participate in the Green 100 national movement as enterprise “Queen Bees” to help suppliers and business partners begin basic sustainability reporting and capability building, which it said could support Scope 3 data readiness.
Mr Chan Kum Kong, head of capital market development at SGX Group, said: “Companies are increasingly integrating climate-related risks and opportunities into strategy and risk management; and investors want confidence that these issues are being actively monitored and addressed.”
Mr Kok Ping Soon, co-chair of C3T, pointed to survey figures cited in the release, saying many SMEs had not begun sustainability efforts and lacked dedicated sustainability staff, and argued listed companies could help lift capability through their supply chains.
Mr Lionel Wong, chief executive officer of Gprnt, said the initiative aimed to reduce fragmentation and make sustainability reporting and transition planning easier for companies of different sizes through shared digital foundations.
