Resulting in increased throughput, high performance and enhanced critical application management to support regional branch connectivity
NTT Ltd., has been chosen by a leading Asian bank in Indonesia to implement SD-WAN to optimize the existing network bandwidth utilisation, improve critical application performance and boost network visibility across more than 120 branches. NTT combined the capabilities of 28 companies such as Dimension Data to create one, leading technology services provider on 1 July 2019.
As the bank embarked on the journey to transform itself into a premier bank through innovation and growth, network connectivity was one of the key areas identified for transformation. It had to remodel its existing legacy WAN infrastructure and rigid architecture to create sustainable long-term value for its customers through enhanced customer experience at their branches.
NTT was appointed to redesign and optimize the bank’s connectivity. The proposed solution includes a SD-WAN solution that uses a fully redundant Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) link with an active-active connection. This ensures faster response time which is critical for the bank to focus on productivity and delivering service quality to its branch network, while reducing its operating expenses by 50 percent.
The solution also includes implementing Quality of Service (QoS) to improve Voice over IP (VoIP) quality in every branch to reduce administrative effort by 50 per cent. At the same time, the solution ensures that critical applications are defined, prioritised and processed with minimal jitter, latency and loss, leading to an increased application performance by 10 percent. With granular visibility of network traffic across all branches, anomalies in user behaviour traffic can be also monitored more closely and attended to immediately.
Dimension Data Indonesia’s Country General Manager, Hendra Lesmana said, “In today’s digital era, banks must be agile, innovative and customer-centric. To do this, they should leverage high performance solutions that allow them to quickly adapt to changing customer requests and market demands. We are thrilled to be working with one of the region’s leading banks that is committed to helping small and medium enterprises and retail partners thrive. We believe that our close collaboration will support the bank by accelerating their services locally and across the region. It will also address their dynamic bandwidth requirements and greater network visibility, ultimately playing a key role in their digital future success.”
